Milltooth Tri-cone Bits

Our roller rock milltooth tri-cone bits, manufacturered in Russia, are available in a variety of sizes and types which are listed below. When ordering, be sure to specify either air or liquid circulation. Bits for liquid circulation are furnished unless otherwise specified.

To help you to order the right bits, use the following guidelines to match the bit design to the formation you will be drilling.

1S -- Long, widely spaced teeth for softest formation (soft          sediments, shales, clays, etc.)

1 -- Reduced spacing between teeth for shale, soft limestone,        loosely cemented sandstone, etc.

2M -- More teeth and shorter teeth for hard shales, sandstones,           limestones, etc.

3MT -- Short, closely spaced teeth for very hard rock (dolomite,              limestone, very hard shales, etc.)

3T -- Similar to "3MT" but teeth have "T" shape for slightly more          abrasive formations.

3H -- Features paired teeth on gage. High resistsance to abrasion          from formations with high silica content.

Sealed Journal Bits

Techline also offers a line of quality sealed journal bearing bits to meet the demands of the oil and gas industry.

IADC Code Number Designations
The first digit designates bit type and hardness of formation to be drilled:
(1-2-3 are the numbers to indicate milled tooth bits from softest to hardest formation type)

The second digit is a subcategory for the formation to be drilled ranging from SOFTEST (1) to HARDEST (9)

The third digit designates features of the bit:
1 = Standard Roller Bearing
2 = Roller Bearing Air Coiled
3 = Roller Bearing/Gage Protected
4 = Sealed Roller Bearing
5 = Sealed Roller Bearing/Gage Protected
6 = Sealed Friction Bearing
7 = Sealed Friction Bearing/Gage Protected
8 = Directional
